Sadly 2 quite rude members of staff 1 slightly burnt chicken pasty and a Steak pasty which was just about ok and both the smallest pasties for almost £5 each i have seen in nearly 40 years of going to Cornwall for 4 or 5 weeks a year made for a very poor lunchtime experience for us. Customer tip The shop is split into 2 a kitchen and a deli the natural draw is to the kitchen which looks like a pasty shop however it very badly signed in fact i do not recall a sign saying its not the place to order. Beware it contains an angry rude chef do not approach. Instead use the force and know of your own accord the kitchen is not the place you go to order you should goto the deli part instead its much nicer and does not contain an angry rude chef only a rude cashier serving coffee and taking order.

Great deli. It was very reasonably priced, which surprised me. Nice staff, too. Bargain

We have been coming to St Mawes on holiday every year for as long as I can remember. We discovered Mr Scorse's shop a few years ago and now it's a must visit every time. We were there from 12/05-19/05 and we got takeaway baguettes at least every other day and they're universally adored by my whole family. This year, we all tried and loved the chicken, chorizo and mustard mayo, the fresh crab, and the ham & apple and onion chutney. All were absolutely beautiful, the baguettes themselves are gorgeous but the fillings make it a 10/10. My only slightly disappointment was that last year, there was a smoked salmon, cream cheese and rocket baguette, this was not on the menu this year. I understand the menu changes every so often and we were about a month earlier than last year so that could be why. But the other options more than made up for it. We've also tried pasties and cakes, which are both equally as tasty (highly recommend the cookie dough brownie). Service is prompt and Mr Scorse himself is lovely and happy to go above and beyond for his customers. It's definitely on the more expensive side when it comes to takeaway baguettes (particularly the crab which was £12) but the quality and freshness of them made it feel like it was worth it. Highly recommend to anyone, you won't regret it.

Just had lunch here today and had a lovely homemade pasty and a freshly cooked baguette and crab. Great food and great service as well. Always pop in here when in St Mawes.

Bought a gluten free lemon cake from them today the 4th September, went back to our holiday accommodation and opened it and it was very dry. So I checked the date and was horrified to see the best before date was 12th August 2022. Do check the use or best before date before you buy from this deli.

We have been coming to St Mawes every year for 20+ years now and for the last few years, one of our favourite places to visit for food is Mr Scorse! Although they are famous for their crab sandwiches/baguettes (which we agree are lovely), for us, nothing quite beats their smoked salmon, cream cheese, leaves and dill baguettes. Absolutely full to the brim with high quality smoked salmon, it's well worth the money. We also had one of the chicken, chorizo, mustard mayo and leaves baguettes, just wonderful! On first look, it might seem like the price is a little steep but these are freshly made baguettes with the highest, freshest ingredients possible. Also thoroughly enjoyed the pasties and cakes we tried (especially the cookie dough brownie!). If you go to St Mawes and don't visit Mr Scorse, you are missing out. It doesn't get much better than this. Already looking forward to my visit next year!

Just bought an expensive crayfish baguette and the crayfish are tough, probably previously frozen. Expensive mistake, also baguette filling was quite salty. I bought a crayfish roll last week from the fishmonger on the quayside and it was excellent...

Very expensive crab sandwich (£9.60!), and although plenty of filling, there were several quite large pieces of shell - not what I would expect at that price! Definitely overpriced for the tourists.

The deli store to this is good with a great selection of products & wines. The café side is quite limited with a small selection of tea, coffees & sandwiches. Seating is outside where there is a patio heater & blanket for the colder days. The seat padding & knee blanket were a little dirty could do with a wash. Staff lovely, friendly and helpful.

Great selection of food with an interesting selection of different things. Great crab sandwich. We visit here all the time for a warm welcome and quality baked goods. Great pasties, rolls and cakes. It's a firm favourite with our son especially the vegan carrot cake.
